FAQ’s

When did Battling Bites Organics open?

We opened in 2020

Are you a Franchise?

No, we are local family owned and operated business.

How long is your season?

Our Full season runs from March/April through September/October

Our Half season runs from June through September/October

What is your most popular treatment?

Our most popular program is our barrier spray tick & mosquito program.  This treatment is all-natural and will be reapplied every 21 days. In the height of mosquito season we will be treating your property every 14-21 days, depending on the rain. Our certified technician will come to your home and spray both the front yard and the backyard.  Our technicians spray all the foliage, shrubbery, around a patio or a deck, under a deck, anywhere the mosquitoes might feed or harbor. He will also inspect your property for any standing water, or damp areas, and use larvicide(BTI) treatments wherever it is necessary.

Are your products safe?

All our products are non-toxic to kids, pets, wildlife and are environmentally friendly.

How often do you apply treatments?

Our certified technicians will spray your property every 14 days. During the height of mosquito season which is generally June through August/September, your property will be treated every 14-21 days, weather permitting.

Why do you apply so often and not monthly?

Our products are all natural and some are organic. These products are not as strong as your typical insecticide. They are essential oil based products and do not last as long as the chemical products

What do the products smell like?

You will be able to smell a non-intrusive botanical fragrance following the application that will dissipate throughout the course of the day.

What if it rains right after my treatment?

Targeted surfaces are the underside of leaves and shaded areas; these tend to be protected from the rain. Additionally, when the product has dried (after about an hour) rain and water do not easily wash away the treatment.

What are BTI treatments?

BTI stands for Baciillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis

We use- Summit Mosquito Dunks:  Use for Organic Production- Baciillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis solids, spores and insecticidal toxins -  which floats on standing water. As the Dunk® slowly dissolves, it releases a bacterium which is toxic to all species of mosquito larvae but harmless to other living things.
