FAQ’s
When did Battling Bites Organics open?
We opened in 2020
Are you a Franchise?
No, we are local family owned and operated business.
How long is your season?
Our Full season runs from March/April through September/October
Our Half season runs from June through September/October
What is your most popular treatment?
Our most popular program is our Barrier Spray Mosquito & Tick Control Program.
This treatment targets the areas where mosquitoes and ticks live and harbor — including foliage, shrubbery, fence lines, shaded areas, under decks, around patios, and perimeter zones of both the front and backyard.
We offer two treatment options:
• All-Natural Program – Reapplied every 14–21 days depending on weather conditions and mosquito pressure.
• Professional-Grade Program – Longer-lasting applications performed every 21-30 days throughout the season.
During peak mosquito season, treatment frequency may be adjusted to ensure optimal control.
Are your products safe?
Yes. At Battling Bites, safety is always our top priority.
We offer both all-natural and professional-grade treatment options. Every product we use is EPA-registered and applied according to strict label guidelines by a certified technician.
When applied properly, our treatments are safe for children and pets once dry.
For families who prefer a plant-based approach, we offer an all-natural program. For those seeking longer-lasting control, we offer professional-grade applications designed for durability and performance.
No matter which option you choose, your family’s safety, your pets, and the environment remain at the forefront of everything we do.
How often do you apply treatments?
Our All-Natural Program is serviced every 14–21 days, weather permitting.
Our Professional-Grade Program is serviced every 21–30 days, depending on conditions and seasonal pressure.
Our team monitors weather and mosquito activity closely and adjusts timing as needed to maintain the highest level of effectiveness, service, and safety.
Why do you apply so often for All-Natural treatments and not monthly?
Our all-natural treatments are plant-based and essential oil derived. These products work by repelling and disrupting mosquito and tick activity rather than relying on long-residual synthetic ingredients.
Because they break down more quickly in sunlight, heat, and rain, they require more frequent applications (every 14–21 days) to maintain consistent protection throughout the season.
Many families prefer this approach because it uses naturally derived active ingredients while still providing effective control when maintained on schedule.
For clients seeking longer-lasting residual control, we also offer a professional-grade program with extended application intervals.
What do the products smell like?
For our all-natural treatments, you may notice a light botanical fragrance immediately following application. This scent is mild and typically dissipates within a few hours.
For our professional-grade treatments, there may be a slight application scent during service, but it is minimal and fades quickly once dry.
In both cases, any noticeable odor is temporary and does not linger.
What if it rains right after my treatment?
Targeted surfaces are the underside of leaves and shaded areas; these tend to be protected from the rain. Additionally, when the product has dried (after about an hour) rain and water do not easily wash away the treatment.
What are BTI treatments?
BTI stands for Baciillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis
We use- Summit Mosquito Dunks: Use for Organic Production- Baciillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis solids, spores and insecticidal toxins - which floats on standing water. As the Dunk® slowly dissolves, it releases a bacterium which is toxic to all species of mosquito larvae but harmless to other living things.
